Well this weekend of bike racing was definitely a success. I feel that it is safe to say that everyone who went had alot of fun. It really is nice to get away from campus for a weekend. Not alot of work gets done, and by that I mean pretty much none. I think Andrew tried to do some orgo reading a few times, but he seemed to give up pretty quickly. The campus really does get kinda stressful though, especially with midterms coming up. There truly is no cure for such stress like traveling a few hundred miles away with some of your best friends and riding bikes, eating, and laughing for 72 straight hours. Unfortunately, when you get back to school you realize just how fucked you are because you have 3 midterms the next week and a 10 page paper, but hey, at least you were able to post pone it for a while.
When i arrived back at school I decided it would be a good idea to start studying for one of these midterms that I had the next day in my human phys lab. Never fail after less than 5 minutes Jon's fire alarm went off and he wanted to come over. For those of you that know Jon, Jon doesnt really study, therefore, by allowing him to come over i f'ed myself. Cory decided to come join, and KG was up not to far after. My Sunday night study session turned into mug night in Greg's room...at least i didnt spend 20 dollars though right? Luckily I think I did decently on the quiz in human phys the next day.
Its currently tuesday and I am sitting here at MEPS. We just unofficially got our campus golf tee time. The team was supposed to me Darcy, Kyle, Jon, and I as UVA runners, see the bromance halloween costume as a reference. Not to my suprise, Jon has practice Saturday morning and has fucked the bromance + darster in the ass. Luckily Billy is always down for drinking so we plan on recruiting him to our team. Jon, you are a nice guy man but next time dont tell us youll be on the team when your not sure and weve asked you 10000x times and you said you could damnit. So that curse for a cause bucket i made for lent, it appears to be working in my room. Austin and I have a grand old time calling each other out on it. Austins girlfriend even gets him on it during their skype sessions. Seriously though, nothing makes me more angry then when someone cant take responsibility and it effects other people, its just careless and selfish.
p.s. kg's computer crashed tonight and hes pretty much fucked for his massive thesis due the day before spring break. As bad as this sounds, I think my life sucks the next couple weeks until i realize all the shit he has to do, hes truly in trouble. May god be with his soul, and the soul of his computer.

I don't think we're in Williamsburg anymore...
Thank god its the weekend. This certainly was one hell of a week, between a trip to Colonial Heights, a french quiz, and an Issues in Health Exam, I certainly greet this second weekend of cycling fun with open arms. Today at "4pm" they cycling team congregated at the bricks and departed on our 4.5 hour drive to lovely Winstom-Salem...in other words we left a little before 5. We took Cory and Joa's cars, 3 bikes a piece on each, good for gas mileage i must say.
The drive here went rather quickly though considering its length. Cory and I discussed the regular topics of conversations, girls, bikes, and dudes who ride bikes. The conversation really was pretty good, i managed to stay awake the entire drive, which is a pretty big accomplishment for me, especially considering that I woke up today at 6 am to go swimming after going to sleep last night after 1 due to a food related distraction by the darster. Speaking of food, i love race weekends, they certainly are good for the feasting.
Tonight on the 4.5 hour trip we ate, footlong subs and cappucinos, then stopped an hour and a half later at Burger King to take a piss and get milkshakes. After pissing inside, we came out to find a gang of 12 yr old hood bitches coppin a tude with the bitch behind the counter at the home of the flame grilled burger, so we decided to go through the drive-thru thinking ourselves smart....BAD IDEA. We pulled up to the window and were instructed to pay 2.16, cheap as hell for two 1.99 milkshakes. I gave the lady the card and she tried to hand us some fries, cory then asked for the milkshakes. A large woman (probably the manager) came over the window and informed us she had mischarged us and asked for our cards back so she could charge us again....FUCK NO. We refused to do so, i dont want this biotch charging me twice. After about 5 minutes of argument, Cory handed them two dollars, they requested we pay them .60 cents, stingy ass mother fuckers i tell you. Eventually the lady gave us the milk shakes and said she did not have time for our nonsense. Woohooo .60 cents up on Burger Bitches. The rest of the drive was uneventful.
Our hotel however is not, first its one of those hotels with the outside doors to the rooms, the kind you see with domestic violence in cops. When Cory and I went in to get the key and the boys in the parking lot were taking off the bikes some guy commented on how it was "probably a good idea that we take those down." Eh, were six strong guys, we have nothing to worry about. After unloading in the room Evrett showed us a trick, the kid can pull his teeth out, yes it is great. Tomorrow during the race we have a bet that he wont pull them out and scare the other guys, if he does so, hes the man, although, he already is anyway. He also can put them upside down, which definitely gives him a little strange look. Ahhh, time to settle down in a room with 6 other guys and some captain duff. Good night ladies and gentlemen, may the wind be at our backs and our opponents faces tomorrow.

Lent
So apparently yesterday began the first day of Lent. This is an interesting time of the year because you get to talk to people about what, if anything they are giving up. Lets rewind to ANY Sunday morning for the past year at say 10a.m., time for church! Now lets see what most of my fellow collegiate compatriots are doing at that time, the answer...SLEEPING. There are a fair number of college kids that do infact go to church, but I feel like its safe to say that these individuals are NOT the majority.
Today however is lent and therefore we must follow the masses and give something up. Why is it that we participate in the Lenten tradition? Is it our love for god, remembering the sacrifice he made for us? For most of us the answer is no. Not that there is anything at all wrong with this. However, I do find it interesting how people like to "test" themselves by making sacrifices. I have done the same thing, I have given up chocolate, soda and the like. Last year I gave up "sweets" it lasted for about 5 hours. My roomate gave up sweets this year and last year, he then proceeded to ask me if a donut qualified. He is also of the opinion that caramel apples are not "sweets" either. Im not convinced. Darster is another one of these strong willed individuals to give up sweets, she on the other hand probably will restrain from eating them, just feast on peanut butter instead. It amuses me how people love to test and torture themselves in such a manner.
As for me, as I said, i will not be giving up anything that I eat this year. My will power simply does not exist when it comes to feasting. Instead I have assembled "The cuss bucket." On my fridge sits a livestrong colored shoe box, in which a quarter shall be deposited by every person in my room, should they choose to participate, for saying a curse word. Im not going to lie, the first day I think i lost about 3 bucks, but today I havent even hit a dollar. Wilson came over and dropped 1.50 in about 10 minutes, it was pretty hilarious. Kyle has lost some too. Austonian, has dropped a good amount too. At the end of Lent I will take all of the funds and donate it to the Livestrong fund for cancer. I wan to make it clear that this is not meant to offend anyone, it is simply an observation.

I thought Kyle and I could eat....then I met Jon Grey
Well its Wednesday and the week is now half-over, or only half-through, I guess it depends on your persecutive. Either way, Im glad because Im pretty much ready for the weekend. After the race last weekend I have decided to make a conscious decision to put forth more effort into my bike riding. It really would be pretty sweet to upgrade to a Cat 3 by the end of the collegiate season. Unfortunately, I wont have much time after May to ride over the summer as I will be shipping off to bright and sunny Quantico where the girls are beautiful and the grass is green and the SSgt's yell all day and you cant do anything right even if you are doing it exactly right. That said, Monday I woke up and went for a run. I find it a common trait in triathletes that no matter how much you would like to balance your training, one of the three will be nearest to your heart, as for me I am a runner at heart.
Although my passion for running is deep, there is one man in this world that none of us can compare to. Yesterday Kyle ran 6 miles, and whats better nothing on his body is pillaging, he can walk today and the likelihood of any of his limbs falling off his fairly minimal. Last night Kyle and I decided to take our buddy Jon to dinner at Pierces BBQ because we love Jon and missed his birthday, but even more because we absolutely love us some hog. Now as you can imagine, Kyle was feeling pretty good about himself on the way to Pierce's having completed one of his longest runs for a few months. When we picked up Jon we of course were informed by the running extraordinaire that Kyle's run in fact was only 1/4 of the mileage Jon had run for the day, yes ladies and gentlemen, the kid had run somewhere around 22 miles for the day, I guess you lose count somewhere in the teens and the miles all kind of slur together. I think the kid runs more miles a week then I put on my car even with me having to drive to Colonial Heights and back almost weekly.
When we arrived at Pierces we ordered 3 JC's Specials which consists of a BBQ sandwich, some awesome fries, a drink, and a cookie of your choice. As I walked back to the sweet tea I see Jon sitting by the machine hammering the sugary goodness faster than Billz and liquor on a Friday night, or a Wednesday night last week. Anyway we get our meals, Kyle gets his first thank god cause the man eats slower than some shit and by the time im done he always has like half of his left and I just want to start feasting on his. My rate of feasting cant compare to Jon's though as by the time Im done with my sandwich hes already eaten his, the fries, had 3 more cups of sweet tea and then is working on the cookie. As he finishes another glass he gets up and says who wants another one. Kyle and I look at each other and laugh and Jon tries to convince me I want another one. Now i could have but the sugar from my 48 ounces of sweet tea has me feeling pretty satisfied, Jon however having consumed probably over 100 ounces of the deliciousness is ready for more, so he goes back up front and orders another of the larger versions of the sandwiches. After he feasts it we leave Pierce's high on sugar and very happy. I drive them back to campus and as Jon gets out of my car he asks me if I always go to Wawa after swim practice, which he knows I will be coaching later. I tell him not always, he informs me that I should come over after practice and go with him....Happy 22nd Birthday Mr. Grey, and may your Spring track season go well! Sub 28 baby!

Freshmen decision making...questionable
So when I started writing this I was curious as to whether or not I would be dedicated enough to write in it with any consistency. Well, the answer is no. Unfortunately, life feasts upon my time and the day comes to an end and i am tired and typing out the random ass shit going through my head for you all to read simply does not rank over going to sleep. Fortunately though today im stuck in a Holiday Inn in Colonial Heights and I have absolutely NOTHING to do so here ya go and I hope you enjoy.
Since a good deal of time has passed since last time I wrote one of these I really am at a loss of where to start, therefore I do apologize if my thoughts are similar to diarrhea. I guess Ill start with class. French sucks, enough said. Human Phys i fall to sleep every class, luckily Jon sleeps 119 of the 120 minutes so I dont feel like such a slacker. Issues in health is pretty cool, mostly cause Professor Harris likes bikes. My epidemiology teacher comes in every Wednesday night to teach her 3 hour class looking about as excited to be there as an alcoholic in rehab. Speaking of which, I have found a new competitor for most tasty alcoholic beverage. It is named after Cory's suite mate a guy they call "duffy" the "captain duff" cream soda and rum, definitely a winner. Good thing Im not on the meal plan anymore as this allows me to afford such beverages.
So i was listening to fratmusic.com today and I heard a song called I hate college by Sam Adams. The song begins as follows:
"i hate college but love all the parties
finishing kegs and crushing bottles of bacardi
king or the class, id rather lay up with a hottie
single doesnt mean im looking for somebody"
Thank god someone was able to fix the terrible mistake of Asher Roth and correct this misconception that somehow class could be fun, well done guys, Im a fan. I got a new ringtone this week too, this is truly a musical week for me, the guys at 3OH3 are definitely some of my new favorite people as i have listened to there song "Richman" probably over 100x in the past 24 hours, im guessing my roomate Austonian is undoubtedly furious about this fact, but hell get over it.
Cycling season began this past weekend and the team and I ventured up to N.C. State, we managed to fit 8 cyclists into one room which I felt was pretty impressive. Even more impressive however was the fact that all 8 of us survived 2 nights in the Red Roof Inn, where murders occur nightly. The race on saturday got canceled for snow so I feasted at Panera, ran, then feasted more then went to sleep, nothing exciting. Sunday the race went well for me. The pack started at around 50 guys but by the last lap it had dwindled down to about only 20, with a lap to go I decided to make a gutsy move and attempt to jump infront of the slow moving pace line, hoping for a few followers. Luckily some guys at Navy came with me and we caught the break. Meanwhile some Navy riders sat on the front of the pack, keeping them from coming after us. I finished 6th in the collegiate B race, my best finish in a Road Race ever. I think roller rides such as the snowy 2 hour ride we did last week have helped me big time.
On the way back Wilson decided that he had 40+ miles in his tank AFTER the gas light came on, unfortunately, he was very wrong and we ran out of gas on the exit 211 ramp of 64...Moral of story: NEVER let Wilson or any freshmen make decisions of any importance. Luckily we made it back to campus without any assistance. Well, now that Iv written a shitload, of which Im not sure any is interesting Im going to sign off and hope that you dont stop reading this for forever. I would say Ill write again soon, but given my history, that may be a lie....O, and the picture is my puppy Tori feasting on a bottle of sparkling water, shes cute so i figured id throw it in.

Dont antagonize wild animals....or Darsters
First 2 days of having a blog...2 reports
Next 3....not shit
I guess if I dont want this thing to die out its probably time for another entry. Can't say that I am sure that anyone is actually reading this, after all, Kyle is the only known follower and between he and Jon I am pretty sure that no one else is reading it. Im sure Billy's not because when I told him I was writing one he responded of course with "gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" thanks Billz, learn to kick while you swim why dont you? Yes Billy, its true that most peoples legs are bigger and stronger then there arms, you sir are just some kind of freak of nature.
Anyway this Monday started as most do, pretty shitty. Yesterday was pretty cool though because we got a new dog at my dad's house. Her name is Tori and she is a 7 week old Golden Retriever and is pretty much the most adorable thing that I have ever seen in my life. Here is a picture of my sister showing her how true puppies act haha. After an interesting and somewhat dicey drive back Kyle and i went out and did our grocery shopping for the week and I hit the sac early. Luckily French was canceled today which was awesome!
This afternoon I ran quarterpath-country road with Billy Rison. Hes a pretty fast dude and I enjoy running with him, however the idea that we will be running in 7.5 hours does kind of suck, but hey, at least well get it over with early right? Then I can chill for the rest of the day...until I have to go to swim practice ughhhhh.....
So tonight at swim practice I actually kind of had fun though. Unfortunately, I was not actually in the water surprise surprise cause who has fun in the water? Only fish, and me when I get to yell at Billy for not kicking. I also found it amusing to throw pull buoy's at Alyssa and Darcy as they did flip turns off the wall. Once i attempted to hit Beda in the head with it but she was too crafty and flipped. This pillaged my plan and instead the buoy hit her foot. She proceeded to leap out of the water and attempt to throw it back but got a cramp in her calf hahahahaha, teaches you for messing with me. I did find it amusing continually knocking them off Darcy's head every lap. This reminded me of last week when Kyle stated "Dont antagonize the wild darster....or she will CHARGE!" Luckily for me, there was no charging however I have been warmed to watch myself next practice or it may be a wet and cold walk home. Tonight however was a success:
